Uh-Ohhh… What to Do with a Bad Online Review

So your business has been “working it” in the world of social media. You have a solid presence on Facebook and Twitter; your website is polished and up to snuff; and your cyber-life is chugging along at a pretty good clip. And then, like a rock through your virtual window, your business gets a bad online review.

An occasional poor business review is a fact of life. Unfortunately, unhappy clients are far more likely to wax poetic about every ugly detail of their dissatisfaction with your company than a happy client is to tell the world why you and your team are life-saving rock stars. But take heart, your happy clients are your secret weapon in offsetting any bad reviews your business may receive.

The easiest grassroots way to counteract negative online reviews is to inundate the system with positive ones. Ask your happy clients to give you a great testimonial on Yelp or Google. The more positive reviews you have, the more potential clients will dismiss the nasty ones.
