10 til 2 started with a question… actually, two.
Why do so many top-notch professionals, in the prime of their careers, voluntarily drop out of the nine-to-five rat race; and how could businesses benefit from all that untapped talent?
Turns out these professionals were not willing, for any number of reasons, to work a standard forty-hour week and had no real options in attaining professional part-time employment. These potential employees were ready to give their all to an employer in return for a little flexibility in their work schedule. The founders of 10 til 2 realized that this sector of the workforce was a treasure chest just waiting to be opened and the ones who would benefit from this gold mine were small to mid-sized businesses.
10 til 2′s professional, part-time employment model was poised to profoundly change the way the marketplace valued “mothers and others”; and to give an edge to small businesses who wanted to run with the big dogs.
10 til 2′s founders opened their first office in Denver in 2003 and quickly grew the business. And with the growth of the 10 til 2 brand, that elusive work-life balance continues to become a reality for countless professionals in search of the American dream; and an increasingly cost-effective option for businesses vying to get ahead in today’s competitive world.
Sometimes the market dictates a new direction; and sometimes that direction can turn an industry on its ear. Such is the case with 10 til 2.

Jill Ater is a Founder and Managing Partner of 10 til 2. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCSD, Jill began her career as a marketing manager at a microcomputer company; and then went on to work as an Account Executive at Grey Advertising in San Francisco. After meeting her husband, who worked for the State Department, Jill spent several years traversing the globe and residing in countries like South Korea and Niger, West Africa. Jill sits on the Steering Committee for the Women’s College at DU Entrepreneurship Program; is on the Advisory Board for TeenForce, a non-profit program aimed at aiding teens in their pursuit of employment; and is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association.
Jill lives just south of Denver with her husband and two red-headed boys.

Jodi Olin is a Founder and Managing Partner of 10 til 2. Jodi graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a degree in Buying and Merchandising. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Jodi worked for an apparel company in sales and within five years was named as Regional Merchandise Manager in charge of 12 flagship locations, overseeing 24 managers and 150 salespeople. Jodi later worked as an Issues Manager for the oil industry and in a flexible sales position as a Plastics Broker, which allowed her to work from home while raising her two young daughters. It was during this time that Jodi began to conceptualize a company like 10 til 2; having noted that she and so many of her college-educated peers had abandoned lucrative careers to stay at home with their children.
Jodi is often asked to sit on business discussion panels; volunteers her time to organizations like DECA and her local synagogue; and has sat on the board of Camp to Belong, a program to unite siblings separated during foster care. She is an avid skier and spends most of her weekends tooling down the Rocky Mountain slopes with her family.
